Suitable for
Project and team managers, project support teams and managers from other disciplines wishing to develop an understanding of PRINCE2 and its practical application and sit the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner exams.
Ideally, delegates should have project related experience and knowledge and should already be working in a project based environment.
Summary
The PRINCE2 method is flexible and adaptable for any type and size of project, in any environment.
PRINCE2 is a process-based approach to project management. The processes define the management activities to be carried out during the project. In addition, PRINCE2 describes how a project is viewed and managed using 7 Key integrated themes.
PRINCE2 is owned and developed by the UK Office of Government Commerce, whose guidance has been adopted by government organisations and commercial companies throughout the world.
Content
The processes, themes and techniques of PRINCE2 are all covered. Consolidation work is carried out giving delegates an understanding of how PRINCE2 is applied in practice. Mock exam questions are also included, to build delegates’ confidence for the final exam.
- Organise, plan and control projects quickly and effectively in accordance with the PRINCE2 methodology
- Provide senior management with hard facts in a structured format, to enable them to make informed decisions on project initiation and continuation
- Complete the Foundation and Practitioner exams.
Objectives
This course provides those responsible for planning and managing projects with a structure that will help them without imposing too much bureaucracy, or stifling creativity. Senior managers are also provided with the means to control and direct projects effectively, based on appropriate and timely management information.
Exam Structure
To achieve this qualification, it is necessary to pass 2 exams:
- PRINCE2 Foundation - 1 hour multiple choice paper
- PRINCE2 Practitioner - 2 ½ hour Objective Testing Exam (OTE).
Delegates must pass the Foundation exam before sitting the Practitioner exam.

- PRINCE2 manual – Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2 and reading list
- PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner exam fees
At least 10 hours should be set aside for essential pre-course reading.
Evening work is also required for classroom events.
The PRINCE2 exams are taken during the course.
